The deets.

The deets.

Ok.  So maybe I spoke too soon on all the move stuff?  I know, I still have lots to fill you all in on.  Like, where?  And what?  So, I guess I’ll get into that now.  The when is still kind of up in the air.  I can assure you it will be sometime early to mid March.  I’m actually in talks with the moving company today about all the logistics.  Let’s just say–me being here all on my own to get the house move-ready was going to make this anxiety ridden girl completely insane.  So we’re working on that.

The where…
I know I said I wouldn’t move any closer to the university than Fuquay-Varina.  I was having a horrible reaction to moving to the middle of nowhere since we’ve lived in Charlotte the last two years.  I am a city girl.  With that said, an opportunity became available to us.  After a tantrum discussion, we made the decision.

We will be moving on to Campbell’s Campus in Buies Creek, NC.  While the husband has reverted back to his 18 year old self since November living in a dorm, we’ll spare that experience as a married couple.  There are a few houses the university offers to the staff, and we snagged one of them.  It’s a nice project house.  We’ve got some renovations that will take place before we move in, and the husband will complete the fence that is in the back yard for the Bailey pup.
As for the living on campus part.  I know.  I never thought I’d agree to that.  But the husband had some very good points.  There would be no commute for him (and I’d actually get to see him more).  The house is extremely discounted-we wouldn’t be able to get the same sized house for nearly the same price anywhere else.  And campus is gorgeous.  Another little bonus?  I will officially be writing from home full-time once we move.  I know I was planning to try to make this happen anyway, but living on campus will allow for this to happen even if it takes a little while to replace my income completely.
Dunn is just a skip away.  I got a chance to visit the town and see the house while I was at Campbell for one of the official recruiting weekends.  It reminded me a lot of Boone.  And I’m okay with it.  It’s not completely isolated with absolutely nothing.  And I made it to Raleigh in 45 minutes.  I can handle that.
I wish I had some pictures for you.  But I do promise to take you along with all the renovations and projects as they happen!  I foresee a lot of “pinned it and did it” in my future!
The “countdown” will be paused for right now seeing as I have no idea what day we’ll actually be moving.  But just know that I am still making an effort to do something that makes me happy each day. Today might have been starting my morning with coffee and last night’s episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami.  Don’t judge me.  Or do.  Whatever.

A visit & a change of plans!

A visit & a change of plans!

Yesterday, our good friend Abby came from Greenville, SC.  It was the last good chance we’d all have to see each other before the move.  We spent the day eating yummy mexican and perusing the mall.  We came back to the house and relaxed with some wine.  We also had my family’s spaghetti and meatballs for dinner, which hit the spot!
Abby asked for me to do something “funky” with her nails.  This is what we came up with!  Love it!

Today, the hubs and I took a look at his schedule to make our final moving plans.  We are setting the movers to come pack our house (praise the Lord!).  We’ll have them move us on March 12!!  So that’s a few days before we had originally planned.  The reason we’re having them come pack the house is that’s a huge undertaking for me all by my lonesome.  It’ll also insure that everything gets packed safely.  Mr. won’t be able to come home that week, so it’ll be good to have the movers take care of everything!!
So we are 4 weeks and two days out from the move!!!  WOOHOO!
Reunited! Nail Polish! [day 35 & day 34]

Reunited! Nail Polish! [day 35 & day 34]

Day 35:

This guy came home yesterday [this is an old photo].  National Signing Day was Wednesday so the Mr. earned himself a few days off.  I spent the day waiting for him to get home looking for a bridesmaid dress, messing with my hair for a bridesmaid up do, and then I cooked one of our favorite meals: Chicken Pot Pie.  It was definitely shaping up to be an awesome day.  Until I got an email at nearly midnight from our landlord saying that the extra rent payment they decided to pull from our account (uh, thanks for that.  We definitely have an extra $1000+ laying around for you to just have whenever) wasn’t showing up in their account.  Cue heart attack…and the reason this post wasn’t written yesterday.

Day 34:
I started my day with a haircut.  I’ve been growing my hair out for a while but decided to chop a good amount off to clean up the ends.  I like it–it’s going to take a little getting used to, but I’m happy with how healthy it looks.

After we grabbed burgers from Cookout (maybe the best burgers in NC!) we spent the afternoon perusing Lowes to get ideas for all of the projects we’ve got going on at the new house.  We had fun!  It’s always fun to dream up how to decorate and renovate!

I of course painted my nails…because, well, I just wouldn’t be Joey if I didn’t.  I’ve been loving the dark colors lately, but I thought I’d go bright this time just to shake things up!

I have to say, I was kind of disappointed in the glitter.  Hardly any of the glitter actually made it on to the nail.  It took several “pats” to get any on there at all.  Meh-that’s okay.

Tonight I’m hodgepodging dinner, and I’m looking forward to just hanging out with the hubs!!

Maybe the highlight of my LIFE right now is that there is a sliiiiiiiight chance we may be moving a week earlier than we were anticipating due to Mr. Husband’s practice schedule!!
Coincidence! [day 36!!]

Coincidence! [day 36!!]

It’s no secret that I haven’t been handling this whole “hey, we’re up and moving from Charlotte” thing well.  I just haven’t.  I love Charlotte.  I liked our life here.  But alas, it is time to move on.  That’s the life of a football family.  It’s just the way it is.  This is the first time I’m truly experiencing it.  And it’s been an experience, that’s for sure.

My dear friend, Mia, has been such a cheerleader, encourager, shoulder, listening ear and friend through all of this.  It is quiet certain that without her, this whole thing would be a lot worse.  She’s a football wife, too.  She’s been through all of this a time or two.  She’s been helping me navigate this whole transition.

She told me to remember “Home,” by Phillip Phillips.  She told me to make it my anthem;  to listen to the lyrics and let them sooth me.  Mr. Husband would make any place we go home.  To trust that.

The highlight of my day, today?

How freaking ironic is it that Phillip Phillips will be in concert in the small, Podunk town of Buise Creek just weeks after I move?

Universe?  I’m listening.  I’m trusting.  Sometimes things are just too coincidental.

George the cat is fired (day 39!!!)

Oh gosh. I had big plans to get home, throw my pjs back on and curl up on the couch with a book this afternoon. The mouse that has invaded my house had other plans.

The CLT BFF came over for support, so we got to eat dinner together and drink some wine, so that was a super duper plus!!

Hope you all are having fun watching the Super Bowl. I, however, am going to sleep!

Good night!
