Stuff & Things 5/7

>> Whoops  I crashed out on the couch last night after being at work at 5:50AM that morning and toooooooootally didn’t get this post up.

Cappelli Straworld Pack-A-Hat c/o Lipton Publicity

>> Hashtag: shameless pool day selfie.  I’ve been spending pretty much any free moment I have up at the pool!  I’m in a wedding at the end of May and my skin was pretty much the exact same color as the dress, so I really needed to remedy that stat.  While I love to rock a nice tan, I do not like to expose my face to the sun.  Call me crazy, but I’d rather compensate with a darker foundation than to risk wrinkles and other sun damage (fifteen year old Joey is laughing really hard right now).  I usually wear a baseball cap when I’m out at the pool, but thanks to lipton publicity, I was able to sport this cutie!  It actually has a 50 + UPF rating and is perfect for keeping your skin protected, young and beautiful!  It also has an adorable matching clutch that it folds down into which is just a cute bonus!

>> Were any of you among the crazies who stayed up super late on a Saturday (again, I laugh.  We used to go out at that time on a few short years ago) to watch The Big Fight?  I was.  Call me crazy, but I was bored.  I was expecting some huge knock down, impressive performance.  Instead, I just watched two grown men dance around a ring for an hour.  I know it’s probably because I don’t understand fighting–but I feel like maybe just maaaaayyyybbee $100 wasn’t worth it for those who bought the pay per view ticket.

>> I appreciate all the support from yesterday’s post.  Many of you had such insightful comments that really had me shifting my perspective on everything.  And I really needed that.

>> To end things on a funny note–Bailey loves the treats she gets c/o Chewy.com a little too much.  You remember what happened last time, right?  Well, this time she got a fun little ball that might have been just a smidge too small for her.  We were all set to give the ball to her new little Pomeranian friend downstairs, but she decided to destroy it first.  Cam was less than impressed with the new helmet Bailey made for him.  I don’t know why we get so much enjoyment out of torturing these guys.  They love us, I swear…  She has really been enjoying the Chicken Nibs though!  We’ve actually been using them to attempt to teach an old dog new tricks!

Happy Thursday, Friends!

Pack Like a Pro: Moving Made Easy

So my friend called me last week in a bit of a panic. Without really meaning to, she and her husband sold their house and bought a new one. I'd tell you the whole story about how someone randomly showed up on their doorstep putting in an offer on their house that...

  1. I am jealous of your pool time!!!! I totally wear SPF 100 on my face anytime I am outside. I am NOT burning it. No way. That is what foundation and bronzer are for 🙂 I watched a few minutes of the fight and ended up being bored and watching something else instead. Lame. It was so hyped up and so expensive and I really just don't get it.

  2. Was the fight really $100?!? That is crazy! We didn't watch it (obviously haha) but I've heard enough to know that we didn't miss out! Happy Friday lady!

  3. Found you through a link up! I love your cats "helmet." I didn't watch the fight and had no idea who the people were, whoops. I feel you on the sun exposure, I try to stay out of the sun as much as I can.

  4. The cost to watch that fight is just crazy! Bars around here were charging $20/head to come and watch. I can't imagine the killing they made.
Your cat is hilarious. That photo could totally be an internet meme.

  6. Scout has that same chew toy. It's still in tact, oddly enough.

I'm incredibly jealous of your pool time. I haven't spend quality time at a pool in 2 years.

  7. Not just because of lupus, but I definitely felt the need to stop being the Jersey Girl sun goddess that I was. That hat is freaking adorable, I thinks me needs to invest in one. I love that it has built-in SPF in the fabric. Good shit. The ball helmet is pretty freaking funny, doesn't look like you torture those kitties at all! Steve and I had plans to go to a friend's house who purchased the fight, then we ended up not going, building a fire in the backyard and making s'mores. We were asleep an hour before the damn fight started.. lame asses we are! But I'm glad I missed it, it boggles my mind that the piece of shit wife beater earned $100 million to dance around a boxing ring.

  9. I'm crazy about face sunblock but I'm also crazy about body sunblock. Less about the wrinkles and more about the cancer.

  11. I think it's a great selfie! 🙂 And I'm all about the sunblock now. I use 50+ all over my body and I've been spending a lot of time at the pool/lake lately. Yeah I don't get the hoopla about the fight. So funny that your cat destroyed the toy. I just love getting stuff from Chewy.com though!! I linked up today! I always say I want to and I finally did! 🙂

  12. That hat is so cute on you! We're heading to Vegas in a few weeks, and I always make sure to bring a hat. I'm really not much of a hat person, but one year I burned the part in my hair. Let me tell you, that is the WORST.

  13. I stayed up for it too and was super let down! Why talk something up that much if it's going to be an hour of running around? Boooring.

  14. that hat is super cute! i don't lay out at all anymore, i'd rather be pale than have skin cancer, and with my history and nationality, it's just not worth it! i didn't even know about the fight until the next day and i still don't know much about it (couldn't care less) and i think i was in bed by like 10pm which was actually really late considering I was at the Derby all day!

  16. My husband loves boxing and he even said it was a pretty boring fight and wasn't worth the cost, so I think you definitely knew what you were talking about 🙂 Love your selfie with the cute hat- I'm with you on putting alllll the sunscreen on my face!
