I’m coffee deprived. So this post has no title.

**FYI: the post I did on Monday (Stuff & Things) will become a link up on Thursday of next week with the darling Kristin!  Be sure to join in on the fun!**
Somehow, I managed to give myself and my husband food poisoning on Tuesday night.  Now, J has a stomach of steel so it didn’t hit him as hard, but I on the other hand was cursing myself all day yesterday.  I know better and yet, I did it anyway.  I’m so weird about chicken.  I mean so weird, y’all!  I had salmonella (collective ewwww from the crowd, if you will) when I was a Junior in HS and it was the worst thing ever.  So I’m always so damn careful.  But I got lazy on Tuesday.  And I paid the price.

I spent the day on Wednesday (besides feeling sick) limping my way through re-writes and chatting with an old HS friend (who also happens to be the copyeditor for my book).  I don’t know about you–but sometimes just reconnecting (I mean, really reconnecting, not just sending a friend request on FB so you can cyber stalk) with people from your past can be really refreshing.  Sarah and I have been in touch for years now since HS, but we spent nearly the entire day talking–and it just made me miss her.  She’s off chasing her dreams in CA now.  So that’s pretty darn cool.
I haven’t made much time for TV lately.  I watch The Bachelor (begrudgingly–I’ve already invested too much time not to finish out the season–but I kind of hate Juan Pablo).  But otherwise, I have a hard time convincing myself to spend my time watching TV when I have so many books to read.  But by the end of the day yesterday, I could hardly think straight–so I finally jumped on the Scandal train.  HOLY FREAKING COW.  That’s all I’ll say about that.
It’s a gorgeous day out today, so I’m about to snap a leash on the dog and go for a long walk to get some fresh air before I tackle another day of re-writes!  Happy Thursday, friends!

Pack Like a Pro: Moving Made Easy

So my friend called me last week in a bit of a panic. Without really meaning to, she and her husband sold their house and bought a new one. I'd tell you the whole story about how someone randomly showed up on their doorstep putting in an offer on their house that...

Also, Scandal makes me want to move to Washington D.C. and BE Olivia Pope. Except I'm pretty sure I would never be able to drink the amount of red wine that woman does while wearing the number of white suits she does.

  6. Oh noooo to the food poisoning!! I'm so beyond paranoid about meat, even though I've never had really serious food poisoning…one of my first fights with my husband was a result of him chopping veggies on the same cutting board that he had just chopped meat. (They were all going in the slow cooker together, but still!) And I haven't watched Scandal! I've heard so many good things about it…it might have to go on my list 🙂

  7. People keep telling me that I should watch Scandal and I just haven't yet. BUT I'm about to be a breastfeeding machine which means have hours of time to do nothing but watch things like that. (Clearly forgetting the toddler that I will be watching at the time…)

And it's a good thing I'm vegan because I am totally lazy about food and cross contamination and all sorts of important things.

  8. I hope you are feeling better!! And I hate Juan Pablo too, why did they even pick him as Bachelor? I mean, he came in like 6th place..

  9. I didn't make it through more than one episode of Scandal…have you tried House of Cards? It's similar!

In this house, I'm the one with the stronger stomach. Scott gets food poisoning very easily for some reason. Even on that cruise last year, we both had it, but he had it a million times worse..
What'd you cook that did you in?

Thanks for the shout-out! The hardest part for me will be remembering to post on time lol

  11. Reading your "it's a gorgeous day out" just made me SO jealous! Currently, Steve is out snowblowing our driveway and our neighbor's driveways and sidewalks, while I cheered him on from the window. 🙂
I was literally looking at my planner at the chicken recipe I have planned for today, and then I read your post. Raw chicken freaks me out, and this made me so sad for you. I had a bad experience with chinese food chicken (I actually cannot talk about it cause I start to gag) and so I'm VERY VERY weird about chicken. I hope almost a week out from the incident you are feeling better! <3
