Stuff & Things 10/16

>> Campbell is a weirdo.  He really enjoyed me being sick since, you know, I didn’t really move from the couch.  He sleeps in the weirdest positions.  (Top right is a good skin update pic since I haven’t gotten around to editing that video I said I filmed.  Looking much better sans makeup).

>> Single (oh gosh, I just realized there was a typo here where I wrote “singel” not “single.”  Please know that was a typo and I’m not that dumb.  Please) girl behavior is weird, y’all.  Bottom left?  That was my dinner one night.  Tuna salad on crackers.  Roasted veggies.  And tater tots.  Don’t ask me why.

>> Besides the raging headache I woke up with on Wednesday, I was feeling slightly more human so I decided to make myself a real breakfast.  It was delicious and totally necessary.

>> Being sick means I watched entirely too many episodes of Gilmore Girls.  I’ve seen the series a few times.  Once when it was originally on TV.  Once when I graduated college and decided to buy the entire series and watch from start to finish.  And now.  Season 1 and 2 strangely bring me right back to my HS days which I fear I’ve been all too familiar with since this summer.  Between my HS boyfriend passing away in June, my high school reunion this past weekend, and GG–I’ve been entirely too in touch with my 16 year old self lately.

>> What’s happening in that picture?  Oh.  J’s car died randomly on campus last week.  He called for me to come pick him up.  We weren’t stopped 2 seconds before the Athletic Director (read: J’s big boss) stopped to help.  He made a few calls and got Cornbread (seriously, I can’t make this stuff up) to come tow us back home.  Yes, in that golf cart looking thing.  We were just around the corner from our house.  That’s the thing about living on campus– everyone sees everything.  BUT it’s nice when we actually know everyone and help is always on hand.  So we’re down to one car–which isn’t even ours.  We’ve been here before–back when we lived in Athens.  Rock bottom, we call it.  We know there’s an upswing in our future somewhere–there has to be.

Happy Thursday, friends.  Deep breath.  Onwards and upwards.  I hope.

So my friend called me last week in a bit of a panic. Without really meaning to, she and her husband sold their house and bought a new one. I'd tell you the whole story about how someone randomly showed up on their doorstep putting in an offer on their house that...

  1. Next week has to be better! Was it the jag, or did that already disappear and I just don't remember? I never really got into Gilmore Girls (but I'm sure it's my kind of show), but sometimes I think you just need comfort TV- and HS Joey was only dreaming of being a published author, being married or having many adorable puppies to play with (couldn't resist!), so you haven't fallen that far. If you ask me what to wear to prom, then I'll stage an intervention!!

  2. I've been sick the last couple days, so I can totally empathize! Yesterday was particularly bad (fever and ear aches), so the most ambitious thing I attempted was Ramen. Dinner was popcorn and V8. Yep. What a day. Today feels glorious in comparison, because other than congestion and not being able to hear very well, everything's functioning properly. Any luck resuscitating the car? Or is it a goner?

  3. Glad you are feeling a little better! I've been making my own version of Ramen for my single girl lunches, bullion cubes and egg noodles with a little onion thrown in. So good and easy.

  4. I eat the strangest meals when Gary is out of town for work or going to be home late – and to me tater tots are pretty much a food group!! Glad to hear your feeling better!

  5. Tater tots are one of my favorite foods and I think that they're always acceptable. Have you ever tried sweet potato tots? I'm glad that you are feeling better too. Oh and your cat is hilarious haha. 🙂

Ok… I'm a terrible lifestyle blogger and I have never ever ever seen an episode of Gilmore Girls. *puts hand over mouth*–there! I said it.
Maybe I should try to Netflix it.

  11. Glad you're starting to feel better!! And holy moly, your skin is gorgeous!! I'm excited to see the video 🙂 Also, yes to Gilmore Girls and random meals. When my husband leaves me alone for supper, that's totally the kind of thing I eat. Or pop tarts, if I'm feeling extra healthy.

  16. Car troubles are so annoying. When my husband and I first got car insurance together we decided to spring for that "towing insurance" option…and we sure used it a lot…

  20. That dinner is so perfect. I usually eat the most random assortment when DG and I don't eat together. Like, cheetos, an almond joy, wine, and broccoli. Also, haha about Cornbread. I literally LOLed. Sorry to hear about his car though! 🙁 Hope things get worked out with that! <3 xo
