Saturday morning we were out the door bright and early to meet my in-laws in the middle. Translation: at a Cracker Barrel an hour away.
Afterwards, we spent our Saturday doing what I can only imagine normal people (translation: non-football people) do on Saturdays. We wandered a small town on our way home. I got a massive chocolate cone (as one does when wandering around outside on a 30 degree day). We browsed other people’s crap in a three story thrift shop.
And then, on a whim, we stopped to tour a couple model homes off the side of the highway. The problem there is… well, now we want those homes. We have the “let’s build a house” bug! Sadly, with a football life, it’s too soon into J’s career to be buying or building any homes. We agree that we probably need to know that we’re going to stay somewhere for 5+ years before we do any kind of house buying.
Hey friend! I've been out of blogland for a few days and it feels good to be back. Wow, it sounds like an awesome Saturday. I made that same "dream about a new house" mistake this summer. Except I never even went in the house. Just drove by it, saw it was for sale and got a flyer. Boom… it's my dream house even though someone else owns it. Oh well, a girl can dream, right? So glad you two were able to enjoy some Saturday adventures. You deserve it!

I need that ice cream cone in my life
Beautiful homes, indeed! And that ice cream looks delicious!
Yay for a normal Saturday!! I'm sure you're thrilled 🙂
Mmmm ice cream! Sounds like a lovely "normal" Saturday to me! And that home looks beautiful! It is always fun to dream 🙂
We eat frozen yogurt for dinner with regularity, even when it's like 15 degrees outside. Totally normal!
I love looking at other homes. Even though we own ours, I still like to fantasize about having a bigger and fancier one.
It's funny, I remember being a kid and being so irritated when my parents would drag me and my sister through model homes, antique/thrift stores, etc. We were SO. BORED. with that kind of thing. Now, as an adult…I think it's the BEST way to spend a Saturday! 😉
(Sorry if this posts twice…Blogger apparently ate my first comment.)
I love looking at model homes and pictures of homes. 🙂 That ice cream looks very yummy too! Glad that you guys had a nice weekend!
That sounds like a lovely day! Ohh, it's so fun to dream of house things isn't it?
Looking at houses is just the best thing to do on the weekend!! Always fun!
Oh girl, I feel ya. I get lost looking at homes online sometimes then I can't get them off my mind!
I don't have the home buying/building bug but I definitely have the ice cream cone bug now.
Girl I seriously could look at model homes everyday…..and then dream about closets and 3 car garages! Oh how life has changed right?
What sweet town was that in? I LOVE Cracker Barrel. LOVE it. xo
Oh goodness, that house!! Gorgeous! Model homes always have the "Let's buy a new house" effect on me, too. And ice cream? Sounds like you guys had a great weekend!
Well now I want a giant chocolate ice cream cone and to build a new house, too!! We talk about doing that a lot – maybe our next place 🙂 Sounds like a great day!
Dang it! Now I want some ice cream! And yes, that is totally a normal, husband and wife non-football season kind of day. 🙂
I was dying for ice cream while freezing in Delaware. The only thing that kept me from it was knowing that my coveted Thrasher's french fries would get cold or the ice cream would melt if I had the fries first. My problems are real…
Your day will come that you can have a dream house!!!
