Stuff & Things 3/5

>> Obviously I’m in Charlotte now.  It’s been kind of a whirlwind of a few weeks, and I totally appreciate you guys being patient with me!  There are going to be a lot of adjustments made over the next few weeks, but I’m ready for them!  Your support and excitement the last few days has been incredible!

>> The support that blogland showed me during the week the book was on sale was overwhelming.  I hate that the sale ended up running during the week that was the craziest of my life with all the Charlotte stuff shifting into gear, so I feel like I wasn’t able to fully appreciate all of you who went above and beyond to share the information.  Really, I cannot thank you all enough.

>> I dropped B off at Grandmas on Monday for the next few weeks while J and I get settled into this new life.  It was honestly a hilarious sight.  I know we call them our “furkids,” but it legit looked like I was dropping my kids off for a few weeks.  Bailey was totally equipped with all of her “must” toys. You know, yellow dog, reindeer, and her new Dino bone (courtesy of Chewy.com).  Is it sad that it’s only been two nights and I already miss them terribly?

>> I won’t lie.  When I got to town on Tuesday, I rode by my friend’s office to grab a key, went to his house to set up the air mattress…and then I went straight to Target.  Are you even a little bit surprised?  Yeah, I didn’t think so.

>> I also immediately googled once we secured our apartment to find out how close the nearest sushi place was.  Priorities people.

>> I bought my first article of clothing in three years on Monday.  I had a pair of jeggings from American Eagle that I wore pretty freaking often.  They were the only pants that fit me right (I’ve been having a hard time in the pants department lately).  Well, they might have fit…but then I split them when I bent down to feed the cat a few weeks ago.  I know.  I know.  So I bit the bullet and bought a new pair.  If I wasn’t confused about women’s pant sizes before, I definitely am now.

>> My nails have been bare since Saturday, and I don’t even recognize myself right now.  I packed all my polish up and brought J over to the bin and was like be more careful with this box than you would be with your own life.  And I meant it.  I have nightmares about nail polish casualties.

Alright friends!  It’s your turn!

  2. Target is a necessity!! Ha! Every time I drop my pup off I feel as if it will be the last time I'll see him, instead of just an overnight or weekend. We are weird, but it's okay. 😉

  4. Heck yes it is OK to go to Target immediately after getting the air mattress up. Duh! I have two human kids and one puggle kid….when I drop off my Puggle kid, she is more equipt for the weekend than the kids (just sayin'). Bare nails…yeah I am rocking those right now too. I meant to paint them like two minutes ago but failed.

  6. WHAT you haven't bought clothes in 3 YEARS?? You are my hero! I can't go three weeks without buying some shirt or pants or whatever! Love that you went straight to Target! And yes to missing our furbabies when we leave them, it's seriously rough for me when we go out of town and leave my babies!

  7. Everytime we move, I start googling the stores around the base before I look for housing.
I'm having a pup party for Jett this weekend; wrapping a present and all, so I don't judge.
And yay for Target! I'm going to Homegoods this weekend…

  16. Target and sushi are definitely priorities.

When my in-laws watch our dogs, they must be provided with all the toys. Barkley is not happy without his football. It's his security blanket.

  23. Hooray for new beginnings- I hope the first few days of everything went really well. And I can totally see dropping off your pets being like leaving your kids behind somewhere, thankfully you can leave them with your parents so you know they're in good hands 🙂 And shopping for pants of any kind is one of the hardest things ever!

  24. Yay! You go girl! I'm so excited for you. I'm also LOLing about the nail polish box because I agree with you! Those are important goods.

  25. Yay Joey!!! Target is the best place to start living in a "new" city. Great choice. I can't even imagine not going shopping for three years. I have done it for months but years?! Kudos, girl! I'm excited to see where life takes you and cannot wait to hear all about your new adventures. AND, yes, polishes are very important…I have said the same to my guy. 😉

    Happy Weekend.

  27. So, I've been a bit behind on the reading, but I'm so glad I came back! As far as pants go: dressing a baby has been the best thing for me ever an has totally changed the way I look at clothes for me. I always take my measurements and look at the size charts before I go shopping. Then I adjust for fit once I find something to try on. And pant waists are higher now…or maybe that's just since I've been trying to get my abs back after having a baby.
