It’s like I’m fine until I have to move things from the house to the vehicle. Or U-Haul. I can’t move if someone is watching, so if someone accidently sees I want to wait until night time. But then when night comes I’m scared that we or I will be to noisy, or wake the neighbors. I’m anxious already so I want to drink a beer but can’t because I’m driving. So I change my mind again. I wait until morning but then I’m embarrassed that I even made the request, or involved other people or didn’t involve anyone. I want to throw everything in a pile, and burn anything that won’t fit. Like the giant bedframe but can’t stand to throw away anything that is paper because I might not not have read it, or it’s a tiny handprint, only later it’s found to be part of a magazine, so I accuse every neighbor between the two houses of the move of secretly switching the handprint out and stealing my child’s. I’m convinced that my spouse has already made friends with all of the neighbors and everyone is stealing my most important things. So I get pissed, call the relationship off and go to my father’s. Or a friend’s. I’ve had some really bad moving experiences all of which in my opinion has been beyond embarrassing in some context.
