Love this post, Jo. I hate that you were sad, but I love the post. Kudos on writing it. I know it was hard and tough, but you made it because YOU are STRONG! I'm so happy you're happy now. xoxo

I hate that you had to deal with people who weren't supportive on TOP of how you felt already. Just know that some of us completely understood and have LOVED seeing you come out of those days with a smile on your face!

I understand this feeling all too well. I was never the happy girl, but I was never the sad girl. I was always neutral. Alaska and deployment made me sad. Looking back at a year ago, I don't know how I continued to function. Such circumstances do weird things to your psyche and, I think, it causes you to lose your mind a little bit.
I didn't read your blog while you were going through this but it's entirely possible I could've thought, "Oh, it's only 5 months". I know I thought that about other wives who would complain about a few weeks or months here and there. Or a "deployment" to Thailand or something. My husband was getting shot at for 10 months, and that's really hard to live with (the only time I EVER talked about that was back in June, I think, when his base was attacked).

HOWEVER. Any amount of time apart can be difficult. Like I've said, sometimes I freak out when he leaves for a night now because I start having flashbacks. That doesn't always happen, but if I'm in a "sad" mood, it can.
It's not something you can "get over", it's something you have to adjust to. So anyone who told you to get over it either hasn't gone through it (ever) or has forgotten what it's like to make that adjustment.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your story. I'm glad you guys are back together now!

Good for you for being open about this! I'm sure it will help some one! I think we all just learn how to cope with certain situations with hope that things will eventually get better, but when you're down it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel!! Each day is a new day but sone times it's hard to remember that!! I'm glad you are doing better!!

awww Hugs to you sweet girl! I love the realness of this post! I have been struggling with some depression over the past probably 5 months too and it is okay to be sad. I love reading other bloggers stories about how they overcame a breakup and that helps me. Glad you are feeling better!
