That way I get a wave from the steam while I shower and I just touch up with a flat iron.

]]> By: Courtney Nicole https://www.joeyhodgeswrites.com/2012/11/05/the-one-where-i-dont-wash-my-hair/#comment-1161 Tue, 06 Nov 2012 17:30:20 +0000 https://www.joeyhodgeswrites.com/2012/11/05/the-one-where-i-dont-wash-my-hair/#comment-1161 i have been doing this for several weeks now and it is amazing! just a couple of insights: i only wash my hair once a week now (on sundays). then on alternating days, i either use dry shampoo, or i rinse in the shower using only conditioner combing through my hair with a comb. i know the whole conditioner thing is counter-intuitive for the whole greasy hair syndrome, but i promise it works! i was skeptical at first, and it does take at least a good week for your hair to get on board with the new regime. i did a lot of research about it before i started, and everything i came up with talked about how shampooing your hair strips it of all the essential oils, which in turn makes it produce MORE oil, hence greasy hair effect. once you train your hair to not be stripped, it really isn't oily! i have gone to a super extreme and am literally doing nothing else to my hair – no blow dryer, no straightner, nothing! i don't think my hair has ever looked healthier or thicker! again, it takes a good week/week and a half for your hair to acclimate, but it is totally worth it when it does! sorry to ramble, but i am so excited about this!

I wish I could look so Raven on non-wash days, but I don't. I have to use like half a can of dry shampoo and I still look bunk. So I always do buns on those days.
