September Beauty Favorites

My makeup game has changed ever since the Naked palette came into my life.  I’d been lusting after it forever, but I finally pulled the trigger on it over the summer with some birthday money.  I don’t have to tell you that it’s great, you probably already know that.  But what I can tell you as someone who was super hesitant to drop $50 on eyeshadow is that it was worth every penny. (I know it’s hard to see/read, but if you’re a makeup guru, you’ll notice that buck and sidecar are swapped.  I got a defective palette, ha)!  sin, half baked, naked, and toasted are my most used.  I use creep daily in my tightline.

I’ve also been all about the lipstick lately.  It’s taken me some time to get used to, growing up a lipgloss junky, but now I can’t get enough.  Revlon Sultry and Rimmel Kate Moss 107 have been on constant rotation.  Both are matte, comfortable, highly pigmented and long wearing.  Oh.  And cheap.  Really cheap.

It wouldn’t be fall if there wasn’t a muted purple-grey nail polish in the mix.  Julep’s Gabrielle made it  on to my nails more than once in September.  Y’all know that’s basically unheard of around here.

My short stubby lashes have been loving Cover Girl’s Clump Crusher.  I used to be an all waterproof all the time kind of girl, but after reading an article about how bad that actually is for your lashes (and being over the nightly fight to remove said mascara), I made the switch.  But finding a non-waterproof formula that didn’t smudge with my tiny, squinty little eyes was damn near impossible.  So far Wet n’ Wild’s Megalength and the CG Clump Crusher are the only two that I’ve found that don’t flake and stay in place all day.

And for one sneaky non-beauty favorite, I had to include the Yankee Candle wax tart in kitchen spice.  Oh, holy fall goodness.  Just trust me, okay?

I’d love to know what your favorite, go-to fall lipstick is.  Fuel my new obsession!

If you know me at all, you know there are just some things I can’t be bothered with. While I love makeup and can truly appreciate the art of a full face, that’s just never been my style. In fact, I was all set to take a management position at Lancôme just out of...

What I'm about to say might shock those of you who have been hanging with me for a long time (thank you, by the way). But since becoming a mom, I hardly do my nails anymore. I'm sad about it, honestly. But the reality is I just want to sleep whenever I have a free...

  1. I have the Naked 2 palette which I use quite a lot! As far as lipsticks, I'm loving Max Factor Angel Pink and Estée Lauder Sugar Honey at the moment 🙂 I have the Kate Moss 107 too but I don't think the red suits me quite as much so I don't wear it that often at all.

  3. I totally agree with you – I rarely wear eye shadow so I was really hesitant on dropping the $50 bucks, but it was SO WORTH IT. And you don't have to tell me twice to try out a new Yankee Candle scent 😉

  7. Ummm we are totally on the same wave length because I literally just ordered this palette last week after going back and forth forever about whether or not I *needed* it and which palette I really wanted. So funny/weird those two shadows got switched! I haven't tried any of the Rimmel KS lipsticks but I'll be on the lookout for that one!

  11. Ahh, the Naked palette! I have Naked3, but I've really been wanting the original. Naked3 is all rose tones, and I find I don't gravitate towards those as much for everyday use. I think I'd love this one, though!

  12. The OG Naked palette is my favorite one by FAR! The quality (and colors!) are incredible. It's the only palette I ever use anymore!

  13. I am the one person on Earth that does not own any NAKED palettes. Ha. I really like NARS velvet lip pencils for their matte texture and staying power. They are on the pricier side, but last so long. Dragon Girl is my favorite color.

Also, if they have them again this Winter, I would recommend picking up that "Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip Box" which has ~30 mini lipsticks {that aren't so mini} so you can see if you like the various colors and/or the formulas of the different brands.

  14. I bought the Febreeze scent blocks in Pumpkin Spice (I think that's what it's called) and it's Scentsy quality. Highly recommend.
    I need to get a new lip-something. I buy $6 eyeshadow though.
