Salon Perfect: Plumeria

Yesterday was the kind of day that I just had to walk over to the Starbucks, work my butt off and drink a mocha chai latte.  And I might have cried a little in my little corner “office.”  I’m hoping it wasn’t the first time that Starbucks saw some tears, but whatever.  Sometimes being an adult is really hard, y’all.

In happier news, I get to hug the sweet Ryan on Wednesday!!  We’ve been internet friends for nearly 4 years!  We’ve been through a lot together, and I seriously CAN NOT WAIT for what she called Joey and Ryan’s DAY OF FUN!  (Friends reference, anyone?  Please tell me this reminded you of a certain scene with Janice…)

I finally bit the bullet and became a Julep Maven!  Y’all have been trying to convince me for years.  YEARS!  Well, I have also been offered to partner with the company (I mean, it’s like they think I write about nail polish a lot or something…).  So if you’ve also been tempted, here you go.  An offer just from me.  Well, me and Julep.

++Mavens receive free shipping.  You can choose what you love from new collections.  And you have the option to send your box to someone else (as a gift) OR you can choose to skip months.  I’m really glad Julep reinstated that feature.  For a while they had it where you had to earn your skips, which is what turned me off to it.  Now you can skip any month you need to.  All you have to do is sign in by a certain date, choose what you want (or choose to skip)!

If you know me at all, you know there are just some things I can’t be bothered with. While I love makeup and can truly appreciate the art of a full face, that’s just never been my style. In fact, I was all set to take a management position at Lancôme just out of...

What I'm about to say might shock those of you who have been hanging with me for a long time (thank you, by the way). But since becoming a mom, I hardly do my nails anymore. I'm sad about it, honestly. But the reality is I just want to sleep whenever I have a free...

  4. ALL the exclamations points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 I'm already annoying Micah with my, "FIVE MORE DAYS." Lol. Also, (1) I'm obsessed with that polish. And (2) I'm so excited that you'll be talking some about Julep here! I was a Maven for a minute but also ended my subscription for the same reasons you did. Then a friend at work gifted me a subscription for Christmas, and I've been trying it out again and remembering how much I like it! I'm looking forward to seeing how the polish looks ON someone before I buy, as there are too many gorgeous colors. I have a hard time picking!

  11. LOVE those nails!! Pink + glitter = yes please. I'm sorry you had cry moment – sometimes those feel good for me (like a release) and sometimes I hate them. I've had one a time or two in Starbucks too! No shame in it! Love you! Happy weekend!

  12. Oh girl. Public cries are the worst. Mine seem to happen in produce sections of the grocery store. Specifically, the veggies. Those poor stock boys never know what to do with me. 😉

The good news is yay Julep!! I'm psyched to see what your partnership will bring! So awesome! Also awesome? Your nails. That pink is SUPER fun! Hope you have a great weekend, when the only crying you'll do is because of laughter.

  19. Dude I have cried so much in public over the last 6 months that I barely even think anything of it anymore. You are NOT alone! Starbucks has most definitely hosted its share of tears – how could it not, with all of the creative-types who come there to work?! I am sending you virtual hugs… and a virtual tissue to dry your eyes 🙂 Congrats on your new Maven status!
