What’s up

>>When I accidentally finished season 2 of Scandal last week (don’t you even get me started on how pissed I was at Netflix for saying there were 29 episodes when, in fact, there were only 22 >:-O) Kristin recommended I give Once Upon A Time a try.  I’m not a fantastical story line fan.  I’m just not.  I had to be bullied into reading Harry Potter (I know, I know–I did enjoy them for what it’s worth).  But I just like real life.  I have a hard time suspending my disbelief.  But something about Once is done so right.  I have a hard time telling myself to stop watching!!  It’s really, really good!

I don’t know why this looks weird–it was a humid day, so maybe the camera lens was steamed up?

>>A friend and her little family are stopping in little old Buies Creek for a night as they pass through on a road trip.  It’s not just any old friend, though.  We were bffs when we were like, 11.  And then she and her family moved away.  We reconnected when we were out of college (thanks, facebook–I guess you were good for something).  She ended up being my accountability partner and is the sole reason my first book ever got written.  I saw her for the first time in 10 years the week of my wedding!  I’m so so excited to get to see her and meet her little one (and maybe show her how much progress I’ve made with the book revisions)!

>>I’ll finish week 2 of the c25k program today.  It’s not pretty, but I’m doing it.  I even went out on Sunday when it was freezing and raining.  I really didn’t want to–but I knew I’d feel good when I finished.  So out I went.  I’ll admit that I laughed out loud when I peeked ahead a couple weeks and saw it says to jog for 5 minutes straight.  Yeah, I’ll believe that when I see it–I can hardly make it through the 90 sec jogging intervals.  I guess that’s the point of the program though.

  1. So glad I could fuel a new obsession. It always feels good when I can bring someone into fandom 🙂

  2. TV binge watching is going to fry my brain. I can't stop. Right now, I'm watching Modern Family (freaking hysterical), and now whenever Steve gets on my nerves, I start whining like Sophia Vergara. Steve has been binging MacGuyver. I wish I were kidding. That show was horrible in the 80's, and 348239486 more painful to watch today.

That's so wonderful you were able to reconnect with your friend. You're right, FB is good for that (and stalking! Ha!). Enjoy the time you get with her!

Good luck with that jogging business 🙂

  3. i loved the c25k program. i was a shitty runner before but at least now, i can pace myself and i can actually run. don't worry; you'll hit the 5min mark no problem if you follow the program. i went from a non-runner to running 15K of TRAILS. so if i can do it, you most certainly can!

  4. Good luck on C25K! I have already failed it…. twice. It's good in theory but once I missed a week, it was hard to go back. You really do build your endurance! I am with you on the suspension of disbelief. I started Once Upon a Time and just couldn't get into it! But I know people love it and there's a spin-off show so there is lots of bingewatching in your future!

  6. I looooove Once Upon a Time! All my fav shows are on ABC! (Except my guilty little pleasure of Pretty Little Liars, but that's on ABC Family, so it's kind of the same 🙂 And, you obviously already know how I feel about Scandal – it just keeps getting better too!!!

I did C25k at the end of last year, and I had the exact same thought about running 5 min straight when I could barely get through 90 seconds, BUT you will be amazed at how easy it becomes! During my last week, when I was running (let's be real: jogging) 30 min straight, I looked back on the previous weeks and laughed remembering my fear of never being able to do more than 90 seconds! Proud of you friend!

  8. I haven't tried Once Upon a Time but now I want to! I watch ridiculous shit like Grimm, vampire Diaries, The Originals, Pretty Little Liars….so this sounds right up my alley!

Look at you go with C25K! I so want to try it but dont have a good neighborhood to run in. I am awful at running….maybe one day! Just stick with it and I am sure you will be running not just 5 but 10 minutes at a time in no time at all!!! You got this!

  11. Oh my gosh, we just finished Scandal on netflix a couple weeks ago. I haven't even watched anything since because it's going to be hard to live up to that show. LOVED IT!
We have been watching Once Upon a Time and you're right! There's just something about it and we can't stop watching! I wish netflix didn't take forever to update seasons!

  12. I use to watch Once Upon a Time and I really liked it but then it started conflicting with things on my DVR list and sadly it had to go….plus Mark would stare at me like a weirdo when I would watch it….he didn't get it….he didn't start watching it from the beginning it's the only way it makes sense! 😉

  13. I can't get into Once Upon A Time, though I never really gave it a fair chance! It's so great you get to meet up with your friend, it's lovely when childhood friendships can actually become something in the grown-up world!
I'm not ready to commit to C25K, I want to, but I just like the couch so much!

  15. Totally agreed about fantastical thing…Harry Potter is as fantastical as it gets for me. And I may or may not secretly like Lord of the Rings, but I'm kind of in denial, because if I admitted it, my husband would make me watch it allll the time, I'm pretty sure. And holy moly, five minutes of jogging would actually kill me, I'm convinced. Good for you for being committed!
