Remember when my Aunt tweeted that she sent me a package with a product she wanted me to try and write a review for? Well, when I opened the package I was excited to see that it was something I was already wanting to try–so much so that I had already purchased on part of the system.
Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge
weightless, silky hair for up to 2 days.
The package that she sent contained trial sized packets of the shampoo, conditioner and the 1 minute conditioning treatment. There were several packets in the package. I had actually just bought the conditioner to try–and had already used it once and was in love. So I really couldn’t wait to try the entire line.
When I shampoo–I shampoo twice simply because I only wash my hair every few days. This helps ensure my hair and scalp are squeaky clean. I also shampoo from the nape of my neck up to my scalp which I find helps with volume (plus, sometimes we forget the nape of our neck and we can get build up there which no one likes). I followed up with the conditioner just through the skirt of my hair.
My first impressions of the system were oh, my gosh I love this. My hair felt clean, soft and silky. It was also very shiny. I blew my hair dry upside down with just a paddle brush, and I was good to go. I did not follow with a straightener or curling iron–I didn’t feel like I needed to.
The second day, I woke up and my hair still felt and smelt clean, and it still looked silky and shiny. I sprayed in some dry shampoo and wrapped it around a curling iron just to add volume. Day two and things still looked great.
On the third day I was set to have to wash my hair again as this is the norm. Sometimes I can stretch into a third day if I put on a hat or throw my hair into a pony tail, but I was surprised when I looked in the mirror. My curls were still in tact from the day before, and my hair still looked ultra silky and shiny. Usually on the second day my hair turns to straw no matter what kind of oil treatment or leave in conditioner I’m using. I was stunned. So I sprayed in some more dry shampoo, ran a straightener through my bangs because well–it looks like I ran into a brick wall when I first wake up–and I was good to go. I was sure that mid-way through the day I would regret the decision…but things still looked great as I was heading into the evening!
(Third day hair the first time around)
The second time around, I used the 1 minute conditioning treatment. I didn’t notice any huge difference so I’m not sure if this is a necessary step–but I imagine it couldn’t hurt.
(third day hair the second time around)
I only used two packets (over the course of 6 days) before I’d made up my mind. While at walmart I found this nifty little kit for $9.49. Sold.
Oooh I already have the shampoo (only used it a few times so no real opinion yet) and I am almost out of conditioner so I will make sure that I pick up the "matching" one. If I can have decent second day hair, it will be a win for me!
I haven't tried this line from them, but in the past when I've tried their stuff it makes my hair feel oily. I'll have to check this out though. My hair definitely needs a recharge!
